July 16th - Right Back Into Classes (Also More Ireland Photos)
Heya, today was a simple, slower-paced kind of day. After all that excitement in Ireland, it gave me a chance to catch up!
I woke up, had my British bacon and eggs for breakfast, then went straight to my communications class. Today, we interviewed each other based on information given in our resumes. It was a great way to get into the mindset of both interviewer and interviewee.
Once the class was over, I went right back to my dorm and took a nap since I got back home from Ireland late last night and wanted to catch up on sleep. Once I woke up, I headed into town to find some lunch. I stumbled upon a small shop called Café Crème, known for its variety of sandwiches. I asked the cashier for a recommendation, and he suggested the spicy chicken sandwich. Great call! It had a solid kick to it, kind of like the spicy Cajun chicken from Firehouse Subs back home. Definitely hit the spot.
Then, I joined my religions class for a field trip to the Ashmolean Museum, where we looked at various historical artifacts focusing on ancient Hinduism and Buddhism. I also took a peek at the loads of other exhibits featured. Really cool stuff in that place, and free entry as well!
After the museum, I went back to my room to get started on some assignments. I’ve got a big project coming up in technical communications — we’re creating and pitching a startup idea to a panel of imaginary investors. The final presentation is expected to be about 20 minutes long, so there’s a lot to prepare!
Later in the evening, I met up with some of my dorm neighbors and we headed down to the Junior Common Room kitchen to cook dinner together. On the menu: penne carbonara with chicken and freshly grated Parmesan. For dessert, we enjoyed some of that Irish fudge we brought back from the cheese shop, plus fresh fruit to round it out.

After dinner, I stayed behind to clean up the kitchen and wash the dishes before heading back upstairs to continue working on my project.
That's it! See ya tomorrow!
