July 19th - Lazy Day

Hi, and welcome back!

Today was a very calm (and slightly lazy) day.

Since I didn’t have anywhere to be, I decided to sleep in and skip breakfast. But Connor wasn’t about to let me starve; he actually went down to breakfast and brought me a chocolate croissant. A very kind gesture! He woke me up and handed it to me while I was still in bed, so I ate it half-asleep. Not bad, honestly.

Once I finally got up and threw on some clothes, we headed down to the Westgate shopping center and wandered around for a bit before grabbing lunch. I was really craving Mexican food (something I haven’t had in a while) so I stopped at a place called Benito’s. I ordered a burrito that was practically the size of my head. It was filled with brisket beef barbacoa, black beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, guac, and sour cream. It definitely hit the spot!

After lunch, we hung out at the table for a while, chatting and relaxing, before walking around some more. But eventually the rain rolled in, so we scurried back to the dorm. I’ll admit… I took another nap. I was full, comfortable, and completely at peace.

Later, we went to Oxford Cinema to watch Superman. I had popcorn and fizzy lemonade while I was watching.

Afterward, we stopped at the King’s Arms Pub for dinner. We ordered Scotch eggs. They were crispy on the outside and soft in the center. The sausage also had a nice kick to it. Very satisfying!

To end the day, we walked around the city for a bit before heading back to the dorms.

That's all I did today! See you tomorrow!
