August 6th - The Great British Cram-Off

Hello,

Nothing too exciting today, just a lot of studying and essay writing since tomorrow is the last day of classes... and you know what that means: exams!

Lunch was a pleasant surprise. All summer, I’ve been seeing people walking around with these massive wraps, and I finally discovered their source: Rozana, a Lebanese spot tucked inside the Covered Market. I ordered the Toshka, a warm wrap filled with kebab meat, cheese, vegetables, and sauce. It absolutely hit the spot!

We had a short break in the middle of the day for afternoon tea hosted by Jesus College. I had to step out of class right after taking a quiz on Islam, so I didn’t have much time, but I still managed to fill up a to-go container. Also, since I helped Heather distribute thank-you cards for the professors, she gave me some leftover ingredients to use for dinner. Very kind of her!

The rest of the day was pretty much spent studying, reading, and writing essays.

Later on, Giulianna invited me to Knoops for a chocolate milkshake. I chose a dark chocolate one again; so rich, so good.

After the milkshake, I headed into the kitchen to put those gifted ingredients to good use. I made ricotta and spinach tortellini with a medley of sautéed and steamed asparagus, broccolini, and string beans. I timed the cooking so everything was just right; the string beans went in halfway through since they were thinner. Connor and I had dinner together and then played Uno in the JCR. Once we wrapped up, he kindly cleaned up the kitchen while I headed back to keep working on my essays.

And now here I am, winding down and writing this post.
Catch you tomorrow, hopefully with lighter bags under my eyes!
